The Chateau Garden

Architect Domenico Martinelli included in his plans of the chateau also a garden and the surrounding landscape. The chateau is connected with its surrounding through mighty alleys of horse chestnuts and limetrees. The actual garden is framed by a high wall.

The original Baroque composition of the garden terraces was regular. Longitudinal and transversal axes divided the garden into series of boskets with pools, sculptures and a labyrinth. In the 19th century the garden was altered into an English style park. Recently the regular composition of the garden in the close surrounding of the chateua has partially been reconstructed.

There are a number of interesting tree species in the garden; oaks (Quercus macranthera, Quercus macrocarpa), lime (Tilia tomentosa) and other (Gleditsia sinensis, Gleditsia triacanthos, Celtis occidentalis).
